All contestants must complete an entry form and audition at a specified time and location to participate in the Starz of the Future Competition. No entry fee. SOREntertainment requests that all performers bring a new unwrapped toy for a needy child on the day of your audition.
 
All entries must be received or postmarked by DECEMBER 2, 2014 by 5 p.m. Entries postmarked, e-mailed or faxed after this date will not be considered and will be put on a mailing list for the following year.
 
Physical or Dangerous Stunts - (Additional paperwork required) Anyone performing physical and/or dangerous stunts must provide the additional paperwork before an audition date and time is scheduled or producer can refuse an audition. By entering, each contestant agrees to abide by all rules and regulations of the competition and that all decisions by the South Florida Fair, its representatives and judges are final.
 
TALENT UNDER THE AGE OF 18 - Parent or legal guardian must give written permission by filling out and signing this form by checking the box below.
 
NOTE: If there is more than one individual under the age of 18 performing, a separate form must be filled out and signed for each individual talent. This form may be duplicated and must be postmarked and received by December 2, 2014 by 5 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY: Talents of all kinds are invited to try out for this program. Individuals and
groups are welcome; Singers, dancers, bands, and specialty acts. Animal or fire acts are not
permitted. Contestants from the counties of Palm Beach, Broward, Martin, St. Lucie,
Okeechobee and Hendry are eligible to enter. Contestants under 18 years of age must have
parent or legal guardian sign the entry form, as well as accompany the under age contestant
during audition and showcase performances. Employees, Trustees and Directors of the
South Florida Fair, advertising and promoting agencies, sponsors and their immediate family
members and/or those living in the same household are ineligible to compete.

AUDITIONS: Time and location for your audition will be confirmed to you by e-mail once the
entry form has been received and approved. A full sound system consisting of amp/mixer,
speakers, CD deck, 1 cable microphone, and wireless hand held will be provided during
audition. All vocal contestants must sing the words to their songs. NO LIP-SYNCING IS
ALLOWED. Vocal contestants must provide a CD, iPod or iPhone with background tracks
only. Must be clearly labeled with contestant’s name, title of song, and track number. All
other contestants must provide CDs that are clearly labeled with the contestant’s name, title
of song and track number. Dance category must provide CDs with the contestant name or
group name. All music will be timed the moment it starts, including cue tics. Contestants
requiring special set-up will be limited to 5 minutes set-up & 5 minutes of tear down. All
contestants are limited to 3 minutes for their audition.

FAIR PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE: After the audition process is complete, selected
showcase talent will be notified of the date and time they will compete during the Fair. Two
(2) preliminary rounds will be scheduled during the Fair in January. Competitions scheduled
on Friday, January 23 are from 5 pm to 9 pm & Saturday, January 24 from Noon to 9 pm.
Semi-finals and finals will be held on Sunday, January 25 from Noon to 9 pm.

JUDGING: Judging will be based on the following criteria: originality, showmanship, stage
presence, overall presentation and appeal as interpreted by the judges. The decisions of the
judges are final. All ages will audition to compete for the final Cash Prize of $2,500.00, an
opportunity to be featured at the 2016 South Florida Fair, and at other events produced by
SOR Entertainment, Inc. The South Florida Fair may add or modify the contest or prizes at
any time during the contest. All prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable. There will be
no substitution for advertised prizes.

OTHER: All winners consent to the use of his/her name, voice, photographs (still, motion, or
video) and basic personal information for promotional purposes in any medium selected by
the South Florida Fair and any and all sponsors. Winners and all entrants release the South
Florida Fair, its Sponsors, Trustees, Directors, employees and agents including, without
limitation, advertising and promotional agencies, from any liability, loss or damage incurred
with respect to awarding, receipt, possession, use/misuse of prize. All winners will be
responsible for federal, state and local taxes, sales taxes and any other fees that the prize
may incur. No performers can be added after the audition process.
